Hillview Police Department's first annual self defense course. The Democratic Party of Bullitt County requested we provide their organization with a self defense class. We thought it was a great idea and decided to open the event to the public. Please join us on August 12th at the Hester's Fitness Center located at 1868 West Hebron Ln. Shepherdsville Ky 40165. From 1:00 PM till 2:30 PM we will have informational booths set up to provide the following information. Bullitt County Attorney's office will provide information on Kentucky Statutes related to self defense and defense of property. Hillview Police Department will share our agencies views on using force in response to resistance and self defense. A paramedic will have a booth to show ways you can treat injuries to yourself or others. Hester's fitness will have representatives to explain how fitness plays an important role in defending ones self. Care Security will provide information on how to protect your home. Kentucky Gun Company will provide information related to self defense tools such as pepper spray, firearms and concealed carry classes. At 2:30 we are offering a free one hour self defense course. This course is being taught by Allan Manganello, a certified Gracie Academy instructor and founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Louisville. Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most recommended forms of self defense. Jiu-Jitsu is designed for weaker, smaller opponents to dominate larger ones using technique rather than strength. We are confident that you will enjoy this class. Please dress appropriately if you plan to attend. Fitness type clothing is preferred. Shorts, running pants, slacks and t-shirts are fine. Please wear tennis shoes with socks. These are trying times! Please take this free opportunity to learn how to better protect yourself and your loved ones.

Whatever the reason behind this action, this type of violence is unacceptable. We ask for prayers for their healing.
